Frequently Asked Questions
How do I grant AeroFTP permission to access a local folder?
Because AeroFTP runs inside the macOS App Sandbox for your security, click Choose Folder... in the left sidebar or open Settings (⌘,) → General → Authorize Local Folder... to grant persistent read/write access to any folder on your Mac.
How can I test AeroFTP without an external server?
Click Launch Demo Sandbox on the welcome screen to immediately browse and transfer files against the built-in virtual FTP environment, or click Localhost Server in the sidebar to start a real RFC 959 FTP server on port 2121.
Where are my server credentials stored?
Saved server credentials are encrypted inside the native macOS Keychain under the service identifier com.sandhillapps.aeroftp.
What keyboard shortcuts are supported?
Press ⌘K for Quick Connect, ⌘N to add a new Server Profile, ⌘R to refresh both file panes, and ⌘, to open Settings.
